Old Songs + New Songs

A tip for worship leaders: Old songs gather, new songs propel. Use old songs to gather and galvanize a group of worshipers. Use new songs to propel a community forward into the fresh things of the Spirit. Too many new songs often leave a group disengaged. So come back to an old song and gather everyone again. Worship leading is the artful employment of both old and new songs."

Psalm 130: 1-6

"Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord; O Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. If you, O Lord, kept a record of sins, O Lord,
who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness; therefore you are feared.
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope.
My soul waits for the Lord."

Rest in Jesus

The heart of a man is restless until he finds his rest in God

Just rest in who God has made you and where He has placed you

We constantly find ourselves wresling with who we are and where we are in life. We must rest in the fact that God has made us who we are, and has placed us exactly where we are to accomplish His greater purpose. God has determined the exact date, time, and place for our existence. When we are most satisfied in Him, He will be most glorified in us.

"But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body".

-1 Corinthians: 12:18-19

"From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would see Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us. 'For in Him we live and move and have our being.'"

The Lord looks on the heart

"His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of a man;
The Lord delights in those who fear Him, who put their hope in His unfailing love."

Psalms 147:10-11

Jesus You're Beautiful

I know that Your eyes are like flames of fire,
and I know that Your hair is white as wool,
and I know that your voice it sounds like waters,
Jesus You're Beautiful!
